1. What Precedent is for
Precedent generates draft blog posts from public court decisions for licensed lawyers and law firms. Every draft is informational and editorial in nature, carries its source link, and must be reviewed by a licensed lawyer before publication.
2. What is not allowed
- Sexually explicit content. Generating, publishing, or attempting to generate sexually explicit, pornographic, or sexual content of any kind is prohibited.
- Deceptive content. Using drafts to impersonate another attorney, fabricate credentials, or mislead courts, clients, or the public.
- False legal authority. Publishing drafts with invented citations, fake case names, or fabricated statutes. Drafts are built from real retrieved decisions; altering them to invent authority is a violation.
- Spam and abuse. Mass-generating content to spam search engines, forums, or users; automated abuse of the service; exceeding demo rate limits.
- Unlicensed practice. Publishing legal content drafted with Precedent if you are not a licensed lawyer in the relevant jurisdiction. The tool is for lawyers and law firms.
- Uncensored-content claims. Marketing or presenting Precedent as an "uncensored", "no filter", or "NSFW" generator. It is a legal drafting tool, nothing more.
3. Your responsibility
You are responsible for everything you publish, including verifying every fact, citation, and date against the linked source decision before publication. We do not monitor your published content, but we may terminate access if we become aware of prohibited use.
4. Enforcement
Violations may result in suspension of access, revocation of early access rights, or refund of any reservation without further obligation on our part.
